I Am Still The Light.

Maybe some peace and resolution in the words of a Pennsylvania lady.  While no words or actions can change that horrible tragedy, perhaps the families can let themselves imagine the scene she describes and find some comfort.

Twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.
their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
they were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say.
they remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
"where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
"this is heaven." declared a small boy. "we're spending Christmas at God's house."
when what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
and in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring
those children all flew into the arms of their King
and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.
and as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad."
then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe
then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
"Let My power and presence re-enter this land!"
"may this country be delivered from the hands of fools"
"I'm taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!"
then He and the children stood up without a sound.
"come now my children, let me show you around."
excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
and i heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
"in the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT."

Fear Not

Isaiah 41:10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.I will strengthen you and help you.I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

God's Grace

10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. 1 Peter 4

Grace and love can be one of the easiest things to get and hardest to give. I have seen a huge amount of both of these given in this community group and want to thank you on behalf of my self and those who you don't even realize you are impacting through over flowing God's love and Grace on them.

December Nights

I love festivals. I don't think I've ever been to one as massive as December Nights at Balboa Park.  345,000 people attended this event.  We went to the free museums and saw some mummies, and then we walked around looking at all the musical performances.  There were chestnuts roasting on an open fire, and Jack Frost was definately nipping at my nose all night.  My favorite part was the mulit-cultural food part, where we walked from place to place, trying food from around the globe.  People from each country were serving use their favorite traditional dishes.  I chose Denmark and had some Danish Aebleskivers, as well as a Hot Toddy from Switzerland.

Who You Are

I think this is pretty cool and uplifting.

Overflow with Hope

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Two are Better than One

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
